How to Make Your $10 Trader Joe's Flowers Look Like a Million Bucks

Well… $30, maybe.

I love beautiful florals, but since they don't last I really hate spending a lot of money on them. So in honor of Floral Design Day, I'm going to show you how to create a beautiful arrangement (worth gifting!) using less than $10 worth of Trader Joe's flowers.

The thing about Trader Joe’s floral section is that it’s always changing with the seasons, so you never know what you’re going to get. I recommend getting a bunch that has beautiful color and looks super fresh. If you’re not seeing any particularly fresh looking ones (hey, it happens to the best of us) check with a TJ’s team member to see if they can check their backstock. Their floral section may be unpredictable, but their prices are always on point. You can get 1 dozen roses for $6.99. Can’t beat that!

Silver Dollar Eucalyptus: $2.99 a bunch, Daffodils: $1.49 a bunch, Spray Roses: $4.99 a bunch = $9.47 total!

You don't need many supplies but you will need snips (scissors or knife will do in a pinch), brown kraft paper and twine (if gifting) or a receptacle (tall vase, mason jar, pitcher). I collect bottles and jars so I just used a medium sized mason jar that I already had.

If you’re gifting, lose the plastic. Nothing screams grocery store flowers like logo-printed plastic. Instead, wrap with brown kraft paper and tie with twine.

If you’re keeping these for yourself, snip and arrange to your liking. Working with the main flowers first, snip off the ends of your flowers by placing the jar near the edge of a table and holding up the flowers to the height you’d like them to be. Arrange the larger flowers in the center, put your accent flowers throughout, and end with your foliage.
